Effect of S aureus Prophylaxis in Parents on S aureus Colonization in ICU Neonates

This randomized clinical trial evaluates whether use of intranasal mupirocin and topical chlorhexidine to treat or prevent Staphylococcus aureus colonization in parents was effective compared with petrolatum ointment and soap cloths at reducing new colonization of concordant-strain S aureus in infants in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
