Characterization of patients with pneumonia and chronic structural lung disease admitted to an ICU
Conclusion: We observed a high rate of agent identification. P. aeruginosa, A. baumannii and S. aureus were the most common. In patients infected with P. aeruginosa, mortality was higher in the COPD/E group. Mortality was significantly lower in the presence of initial antibiotic susceptibility.
