Longitudinal asthma changesin Italian general population samples: host and environmental risk factors
Conclusions: most individuals reporting asthma at baseline are remittent at follow-up. Urban living increased the risk of persistent asthma and active/passive smoke exposure increased the risk of persistent asthma symptoms. Patients and health care providers could use such information in prevention and management strategies.
