Digital mental health for older adults
Widespread use of digital devices has led to the emergence of mobile systems for health measurement, analysis and intervention (mHealth). Some of the digitally assessed functions are correlated with clinically meaningful measures and have implications for disease prevention. An example is a recent Framingham Heart Study, which showed that incremental light accelerometer measured physical activity was correlated with higher total brain volumes; each additional hour of activity corresponded to an average of 1.1 years of less brain aging.
