A new triterpene from the green walnut husks of Juglans mandshurica Maxim

AbstractA new triterpene named klodorol B (1), together with six known compounds, were isolated from the green walnut husks ofJuglans mandshurica Maxim. Their structures were determined using spectroscopic methods on the basis of 1D and 2D NMR, and high-resolution electrospray ionization mass spectrometry. The isolated compounds were evaluated for their cytotoxic activities on human gastric carcinoma (BGC-823), human liver cancer (HepG-2) and human lung cancer (A549) cell lines.Graphical abstract.

Conclusion: These results suggest that apatinib might be effective for not only gastric cancer but also other carcinomas including lung cancer, colorectal cancer, cervical cancer, liver cancer, breast cancer, and nasopharyngeal cancer. Thus, apatinib is a promising targeted drug for multiple types of cancer.

Abstract MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small non-coding RNAs that regulate gene expression post-transcriptionally responsible for regulating>70% of human genes. MicroRNA-708 (miR-708) is encoded in the intron 1 of the Odd Oz/ten-m homolog 4 (ODZ4) gene. Numerous researches have confirmed that the abnormal expressed miR-708 is involved in the regulation of multiple types of cancer. Notably, the expression level of miR-708 was higher in lung cancer, bladder cancer (BC) and colorectal cancer (CRC) cell lines while lower in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), prostate cancer (PC), gastric cancer (GC) and so on. This review pr...

Publication date: August 2019Source: Current Opinion in Virology, Volume 37Author(s): Jonathan Stern, George Miller, Xin Li, Deepak SaxenaAlthough bacterial dysbiosis has been previously associated with carcinogenesis and HIV infection, the impact of the virome and these disease states has been less well studied. In this review, we will summarize what is known about the interplay between both the bacterial and the viral components of the microbiome on cancer and HIV pathogenesis. Bacterial dysbiosis has been associated with carcinogenesis such as colorectal cancer (CRC), hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), lung cancer, breast ...

289Purpose: Recent development of quinoline based positron-emission-tomography (PET)-tracers that act as fibroblast-activation-protein inhibitors (FAPI) demonstrated promising preclinical and clinical results. FAP is overexpressed from cancer associated fibroblasts (CAFs) of several tumor entities. Here we quantify the tumor-uptake in FAPI-PET/CT of various primary and metastatic tumors to identify the most promising indications for future application. Methods: FAPI-PET/CTs were requested by various clinical referees according to individual clinical indication which were considered insufficiently covered by FDG-PET/CT. All...
