547 neoadjuvant cryotherapy improves dysphagia and increases remission rates in advanced esophageal cancer
Dysphagia is the most common symptom in advanced esophageal cancer, and is a source of morbidity that frequently delays initiation of chemoradiation. Liquid nitrogen spray cryotherapy (LNSC) can provide rapid dysphagia relief and is postulated to stimulate a local anti-tumor immune response. Yet, no published studies have confirmed its safety when used before chemoradiotherapy. Therefore, a prospective pilot clinical trial was conducted to evaluate safety and efficacy of LNSC when administered prior to chemoradiotherapy.
