Do gynecologic oncology patients with severely diminished renal function and urinary tract obstruction benefit from a ureteral stent(s) or percutaneous nephrostomy tube(s)?
ConclusionsGynecologic oncology patients with <20% renal function may recover from AKI after placement of a stent or PCN tube, indicating that a diuretic renal scintigraphy cutoff of <20% renal function may be overly conservative. Future studies are warranted to determine optimal renal function cutoffs for stent/PCN tube placement in gynecologic oncology patients.
