Clinical Outcomes by Intended Goal of Therapy in the MOMENTUM 3 Clinical Trial: Final Analysis of the 1028 Patient Full Cohort

Candidates for Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVAD) are often dichotomized by their primary intended goal of therapy into discrete categories such as bridge to transplantation (BTT) or destination therapy (DT). While questions about the clinical relevance of such arbitrary designations have been raised, it remains unclear whether differences in survival, clinical outcomes, and health-related quality of life exist in the modern era between patients labeled as BTT or DT, especially as a function of distinct pumps.
