Major infections after cardiac surgery and antibiotic management practises in a tertiary care centre
Conclusions: Major infections affect length of stay, thereby healthcare cost. Despite acceptable levels of post-operative infection, antibiotic usage is overwhelming and promptness to send cultures is still lagging. Intensivist should mediate viable antibiotic stewardship program in resource limited setting.
