Intrapleural tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) and deoxyribonuclease (DNAse) for pleural infection in an Asian population: Similar outcomes between 5mg and 10mg regimen
Conclusions: Intrapleural tPA/DNAse is a viable option in patients unfit for surgery. Treatment success and adverse events were similar between 5mg and 10mg tPA regimens. This supports the use of lower tPA dosing and could potentially translate to cost savings.
