Turning cells against pancreatic cancer

(Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory) Pancreatic cancer is infamously resistant to treatment options because the tumor is often surrounded by cells which are " tricked " into protecting it. Now, researchers from CSHL have identified the special signals that encourage some of these cells to either help the cancer, or--ideally--hinder it.
