Cancer metastase de la prostate: Aspects socio-économiques, radiologiques et évolutifs en cote d’ivoire

Conclusionle cancer de la prostate en Côte d’Ivoire est un cancer de découverte métastatique. C’est un cancer fréquent, agressif. Son traitement repose essentiellement sur l’orchidectomie compte tenu de la pauvreté des patients. La survie moyenne des malades était de 18 mois.AbstractObjectiveOur study aimed to present the epidemiological, and diagnostic, and evolutionary's aspect of prostate metastasized cancer.Subjects and MethodsA retrospective study was conducted from March 2001 to February 2011. Medical records of 146 patients who were suffered from prostate metastasized cancer were retrieved after ethical approval from the Hospital Administration.ResultsThe average age of the patients was 68 (46-90years). Patients who didn’t have social insurance were recorded in 100% of cases. Eighty four (57%) were unemployed. Most of them took a long time before coming to see a doctor (between 2 and 3 years). All cancers founded after histological analysis were Adenocarcinoma most of the cancers were undifferentiated (80%).The radiological bony injury were mixed and osteo-condensing for a great part, affecting more rachis lumbar vertebra and pelvis (60%). The palliative treatment was dominated by testis orchidectomy (82%), a average survival for 18 months.ConclusionIn Ivory coast the prostate cancer is a cancer of metastatic discovery. It's frequent and offensive cancer. The treatment bases essentially on the testis ablation side for the poverty of patients. The average ...
