Escherichia Coli Enteritis in Ireland

Rates of disease due to Verotoxin-producing Escherichia coli (VTEC) in Ireland have increased dramatically since 2010, and are currently eight-fold those reported in the United States.  Significantly, corresponding rates of hemolytic-uremic syndrome and E. coli O157 infection in Ireland have changed little during this period.
