480 safety of the six-shooter multiband mucosectomy device for endoscopic resection in barrett ’s esophagus in 7743 resections: a retrospective international multicenter study.
Endoscopic resection (ER) is an important treatment modality for patients with Barrett ’s esophagus (BE) containing high-grade dysplasia (HGD) or early cancer. The most widely used device for ER is the six-shooter multi-band mucosectomy (MBM) device. This six-shooter consists of a modified variceal band ligator and requires no submucosal lifting or prelooping of a snare in the cap. A randomized study demonstrated that MBM with the six-shooter was equally effective and safe as ER with the classic cap-technique, but significantly faster and cheaper.
