Has the time come for using MELD-Sarcopenia score?

We read with interest the article by van Vugt et al.1 which showed that while sarcopenia was associated with increased mortality on the transplant waiting list, its incorporation into the model for end stage liver disease score did not substantially add to the prediction of waiting list mortality. It was a well-designed study and the use of competitive risk analysis was particularly commendable given the nature of the cohort (patients on transplant waiting list).
