The management and outcome of Bacillus Calmette –Guérin vaccine overdose
The Bacillus Calmette –Guérin (BCG) vaccine protects against disseminated tuberculosis (TB) and TB meningitis and is one of the most widely used vaccines worldwide. BCG has been included in the national immunization program in Taiwan since 1965.1 Since then, healthy neonates in Taiwan were immunized 24 h after birth with the Tokyo-172–based BCG vaccine until 2016, when the recommended BCG immunization timing was changed to 5–8 months of age.
