Today we publish theannual reports and accounts for Arthritis Research UK for 2016/17, it presents our continued focus on working towards the 2020 goal to improve the quality of life for people with arthritis.It also provides information about our finances, how we raise and spend our money, as well as the processes that we go through to ensure that we are operating in an ethical and responsible way. In November 2017 Arthritis Research UK and Arthritis Care merged so that we can do more to help people with arthritis to live full and active lives. The annual reports and accounts for Arthritis Care for 2016-17 will be published separately in Spring 2018 and we’ll look to produce our first set of annual reports and accounts that reflect our new merged charity later this year.Highlights from Arthritis Research UK in 016/17:Launching a helpline devoted to supporting people with arthritis and helping them to find clear and trusted answers to the questions they have about their condition.We committed£5m to research into pain and pain management.We piloted a peer-to-peer grant fund to support groups at a local level.We secured the first parliamentary debate on arthritis at Westminster in more than five years, giving us an opportunity to drive the needs of millions of people with arthritis further up the political agenda.We have continued this work into 2017/18, offering people with arthritis access to immediate and personalised information through our dedicated ...
