Pierre Delmas Prize

Pierre Delmas Prize Deadline for applications is December 15, 2014. The European Society for Clinical and Economic Aspects of Osteoporosis and Osteoarthritis (ESCEO) and the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF), with the support of Servier, grant an important scientific award named after the late Pierre D. Delmas. As Professor of Medicine and Rheumatology at the University of Lyon, France, Director of the INSERM research unit 'Pathophysiology of Osteoporosis', Pierre Delmas was an outstanding scientist who directed essential basic and clinical research in metabolic bone diseases, particularly in osteoporosis and osteoarthritis. Additionally, as the Founding President of the IOF, he had a profound impact on the development of the global osteoporosis community. The Pierre Delmas Prize will be awarded every year to an individual for outstanding and major scientific contributions to the study of bone and mineral diseases, and consists of a grant of € 40 000 and a medal. The Prize Committee is composed of scientists chosen within the IOF Committee of Scientific Advisors and ESCEO Scientific Advisory Board. The 2015 Award  will be presented at the World Congress on Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis and Musculoskeletal Diseases in Milan.
