Report of transient events in a cocaine-dependent volunteer who received iTBS
We report two clinically-significant events in an individual after intermittent theta-burst stimulation (iTBS) at the National Institute of Drug Abuse (NIDA) Intramural Research Program in Baltimore, Maryland. Both were reported to the NIDA-Institutional Review Board (IRB) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The participant, a 33-year-old, TMS-na ïve, African American female, had no history of head injury or seizures. She did not meet DSM-5 criteria for major depression prior to study entry but scored 12 (mild depression) on the Montgomery-Asberg Depression Rating Scale [MADRS; 1].
