Historically, the country has also had a high incidence of TB. The Government of Botswana has developed some of the strongest treatment and prevention of mother to child transmission of HIV (PMTCT) programs in sub-Saharan Africa. As PEPFAR Botswana transitions to a technical assistance (TA) model, there is an increasing focus on the training and mentoring of health care workers to build local capacity. This FOA has five program areas related to capacity building: Program Area A: Care, support and treatment, including PMTCT, for adult and pediatric populations Program Area B: TB/HIV Program Area C: Laboratory Program Area D: Informatics Program Area E: Cervical cancer All activities will be done in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MOH).
