CONCLUSION: Meeting the recommended levels of physical activity during pregnancy is associated with less activity limitation related to LBP during pregnancy. CONCLUSION: All 3 outcome measures demonstrated good responsiveness. MICs were derived for each instrument. The PGQ at 8 weeks post-randomisation was identified as an appropriate outcome measure for pregnancy-related LBP/PGP since it is specific to these pain presentations and assesses both activity limitations and symptoms. This article reviews the evidence regarding the clinical detection and diagnosis of SIJ movement dysfunction. In particular, it questions the continued use of assessing movement dysfunction despite mounting evidence undermining the biological plausibility and subsequent treatment paradigms based on such diagnoses. Clinicians are encouraged to align their assessment methods and explanatory models to contemporary science to reduce the risk of their diagnoses and choice of intervention negatively affecting clinical outcomes. Conclusion Although this is only a single case but being the first to our knowledge, the good results highlight the point that both surgical management and maintenance of pregnancy during second trimester complicated by Pott’s paraplegia are possible, involving a multi-disciplinary team approach for optimal maternal and fetal outcome.
