CONCLUSIONS: 1.Asymptomatic, unilateral severe carotid artery stenosis does not increase the risk of stroke, myocardial infarction and mortality within 30 days of coronary artery bypass grafting. 2.The presence of asymptomatic unilateral, severe carotid artery stenosis increases the risk of cardiovascular events during the first 12 months postoperatively.
