Insecticide Resistance Testing in Puerto Rico

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. 08/08/2016 This Web page presents the results of tests in Puerto Rico to determine the presence of insecticide resistance of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes to the most commonly used EPA-approved insecticides for mosquito control. These insecticides are used to kill mosquitoes that spread Zika, dengue, and chikungunya viruses. Results are provided as maps showing whether Aedes aegypti were susceptible, partially resistant, or resistant to specific insecticides from the municipalities shown. Results show that these mosquitoes are resistant or partially resistant to most of the insecticides tested. (Text)
