Call for Applications: 2014 American Academy of Family Physicians Vaccine Science Fellowship Application deadline is March 17, 2014. The American Academy of Family Physicians has two vaccine science fellowship positions available for family physicians. The selected fellows will work with mentors to become more knowledgeable about vaccine science and policy.   Selected applicants will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and practical “hands on” experience through participation in meetings of leading experts in public health and immunizations, federal and state vaccine policy groups, and vaccine manufacturers. Eligibility Requirements Applicant must be an active member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, in practice or teaching, and out of residency and fellowship. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen. Each applicant must devote approximately 10% of full time employment (FTE) for one year.  Applicant must commit to travel time for appropriate meetings. Because funding support for the AAFP Vaccine Science Fellowships is provided by Merck & Co., Inc., the selected applicants may be disclosed by Merck and posted on a public website by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services as covered recipients under the Physician Payments Sunshine Act, codified at 42 CFR Parts 402 and 403.
