The global pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), has led to an unprecedented surge in morbidity and mortality worldwide.1 While most individuals experience mild or moderate symptoms, a substantial proportion of patients continue to suffer from persistent and debilitating symptoms, commonly known as "long COVID,"2 now delineated in the International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision (ICD-10) as code U09.9.
