208. Heart Rate Variability in Patients With Treatment-Resistant Depression During Ketamine Infusion

Depression is associated with reduced heart rate variability (HRV) and compromised vagal control. Acute ketamine administration triggers significant cardiovascular shifts, increasing heart rate (HR) and blood pressure through sympathetic activation. This autonomic response provides potential understanding of ketamine's antidepressant mechanisms. This investigation examines ketamine's influence on HR and HRV in major depressive disorder (MDD), assessing their potential as treatment response predictors.
