Bilateral spheno-orbital meningiomas: surgical management, progression, and recurrence
CONCLUSIONS: Bilateral SOMs are usually found in female patients and are strongly associated with hormone replacement therapy. Early surgical management with gross-total resection is the most effective treatment in terms of recurrence and improves visual acuity. Given the slow progressive nature of bSOMs and their time to recurrence, which can be up to 10 years, long-term follow-up of patients is essential.PMID:38626467 | DOI:10.3171/2024.1.JNS232406
