The Feasibility of Acupressure in Rheumatoid Arthritis

Although acupressure can be helpful in many chronic pain and fatigue states this treatment has never been explored in rheumatoid arthritis (RA). In this open label pilot study, we assessed the feasibility of a 6-week acupressure treatment regimen in RA. Baseline characterization included PROMIS 29+2 and Fibromyalgia Survey Questionnaire (FSQ). Participants completed 6 weeks of daily self-applied acupressure treatments. Post-treatment, participants completed PROMIS 29+2, FSQ, tolerability, acupressure sensation, credibility, and patient global impression of change (PGIC) scales.
