Outcomes Associated with Protekduo Right Ventricular Assist Device

Purpose: The ProtekDuo (LivaNova, London, UK) is a percutaneous right ventricular assist device (RVAD) that transfers blood from the right atrium to the pulmonary artery, “unloading,” the right ventricle. It is primarily used to treat right ventricular failure. It can be connected to an extracorporeal membrane oxygenation system to provide ventilatory support for failing lungs. There are few studies looking at outcomes associated with ProtekDuo use. We evaluated institutional outcomes associated with ProtekDuo use.
