A Terrible Bloody Tamponade: A Case of Delayed Hemorrhagic Cardiac Tamponade Post Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion
Introduction: Left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO) is a noninferior alternative for stroke prevention in atrial fibrillation, particularly in patients with contraindications to long term anticoagulation. Delayed (>7 days) cardiac tamponade is a rare complication of LAAO with incidence of 0.8%.
