Incidence, predictors, and outcomes of malignant cerebral edema in acute basilar artery occlusion after endovascular treatment: a secondary analysis of the ATTENTION trial
CONCLUSIONS: MCE is not uncommon in BAO patients undergoing EVT and is associated with poor outcomes. Baseline GCS score and the number of procedures were predictors of MCE. In clinical practice, it is crucial that physicians identifying MCE after EVT in patients with BAO and identification of MCE will help in the selection of an appropriate pharmacological treatment strategy and close monitoring.PMID:38579342 | DOI:10.3171/2024.1.JNS232085
