In vivo tracking of mesenchymal stem cell dynamics and therapeutics in LPS-induced acute lung injury models

This study emphasizes the importance of the "lung window" for live imaging of the cellular behavior of MSCs by vein injection. Moreover, our results revealed that the upregulation of vascular cell adhesion molecule 1 (VCAM1) in endothelial cells post-inflammatory injury could enhance MSC retention in the lung, further ameliorating acute lung injury.
