Risk of Cancer in Patients with Diverticular Disease: A Population-based Cohort Study

CONCLUSIONS: Our findings show an increased long-term relative risk of cancer following a diagnosis of DD. These findings are likely due to prevalence of numerous risk factors in DD patients that confer an increased risk of cancer. The decreased relative risk of colorectal cancer might be explained by an increased likelihood of DD patients undergoing colonoscopy with polypectomy.PMID:38490316 | DOI:10.1016/j.cgh.2024.02.024
