Phase II Trial of Quality-of-Life Outcomes after Proton Beam for Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma
Radiotherapy is a primary treatment modality for nasopharyngeal cancer (NPC). Advances in radiotherapy techniques such as intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) have shown less detriment in quality of life (QOL). Proton beam therapy (PBT) has potential to further reduce detriment in QOL due to reduced exposure of normal tissues to low-dose radiation. The purpose of this study was to assess patient-reported QOL outcomes after PBT.
