Proposals for the delineation of neck clinical target volume for definitive Radiation therapy in patients with oral/ oropharyngeal squamous cell cancer based on lymph node distribution

Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) are the most common types of head and neck cancer [1], constituted 2.5  % of global malignancies in 2018 [2]. Approximately 60 % of OSCC/OPSCC cases are diagnosed as locally advanced, with 50 % considered unresectable [3]. In addition, over 50 % of these cases exhibit cervical lymph node metastasis (LNM) upon initial diagnosis, with the risk varying based on th e tumor location, size, and pathological characteristics [4,5].
