Comparison of the performance of multiple whole-genome sequence-based tools for the identification of < em > Bacillus cereus sensu stricto < /em > biovar < em > Thuringiensis < /em >

This study assessed the accuracy of whole-genome sequencing (WGS)-based identification of Bt compared to phenotypic microscopy-based screening for crystal protein production. Multiple bioinformatics tools were compared to assess their performance in predicting crystal protein production. Among them, identification of pesticidal sequences performed best overall at WGS-based Bt identification.PMID:38470126 | DOI:10.1128/aem.01778-23
