Tirzepatide Lowered Blood Pressure in People With Obesity

People with obesity who received tirzepatide —a glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist—had lower blood pressure after 9 months compared with those who received a placebo, a study published in Hypertension found. The findings are the latest example of the ways in which GLP-1 receptor agonists might improve cardiometabolic conditio ns that are associated with obesity, the researchers reported.
