Biofilm eradication of Stenotrophomonas maltophilia by Levofloxacin and Trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole
In conclusion, S. maltophilia isolated from blood had higher biofilm production than those from respiratory samples. Resistance to antibiotics increased due to biofilm production. Antibiotic monotherapy might not be the best course of action for the treatment of S. maltophilia infections in Mexico, as they might also be causing biofilm production.PMID:38296539 | DOI:10.7883/yoken.JJID.2023.389
