Cardiovascular Health, Lifestyle Factors, and Social Determinants Among Asian Sub-Populations in the US

Asian Americans are the fastest growing population in the United States.1 Although Asian adults represent a highly heterogenous population comprised of diverse groups (e.g., Chinese, Asian Indian, Filipino adults) - each with its own demographic, socioeconomic, and cultural characteristics - they are frequently categorized into a single group ( “Asian”) for public health surveillance efforts.2,3 However, emerging evidence suggests that the aggregation of Asian adults may conceal important differences in the health status of unique groups that comprise this population.
