Multitarget strategy of GATA3 and high-grade serous ovarian carcinoma: Where are we now?
Ovarian cancer, particularly high-grade serous ovarian carcinoma (HGSOC), is one of the leading causes of death among gynecological cancer patients. In this regard, despite excellent cytoreductive surgery and platinum-based therapy, the HGSOC spreads and relapses often, with a poor prognosis. The tumor microenvironment (TME) has recently been found to play an important role in the carcinogenesis of HGSOC; consequently, interactions between the TME and HGSOC may provide a feasible strategy to target HGSOC [1,2].
