Brain tumors in pregnancy, symptoms, diagnosis and our cases

Primary brain tumors during pregnancy are rare. Clinical symptoms are non specific for example cephalea, nausea, vomiting or epileptic seizures, some symptoms can be easily confused with pregnancy symptoms or complications such as vomiting in early pregnancy or eclampsia. It is obligatory to say that symptoms of brain tumors are the same in both pregnant and non pregnant patients. The diagnosis is established in cooperation between obstetrician, neurologists and radiologists. Treatment of brain tumors in pregnancy is a matter of a multidisciplinary team, which should determine the risks and benefits of treatment for both mother and fetus.
