HSV-1 vulvar infection in a 5-year-old patient

A 5-year-old patient was consulted in the outpatient clinic due to lesions of the vulva, with complaints of itching and pain. Additionally, she presented with polyuria. The patient ’s mother observed no improvement after earlier threatment with hydrocortisone, natamycin, neomycin and sulfathiazole. The urynalisys showed no pathology. The patient was generally healthy, with no history of immunosuppresion or prolonged antibiotic treatment. In examination, the vulva was covered with reddended lesions characteristic of herpes simplex viral infection.
