Commentary: Reverse Potts shunt: The answer in a high-pressure situation?

Advances in the medical therapy of patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension have resulted in a significant increase in survival over the last 2  decades.1 However, patients who do not respond to medical therapy have few options other than lung transplantation. The reverse Potts shunt was introduced in the early 2000s as a therapy to reduce the pressure load on the right ventricle in patients with suprasystemic pulmonary artery pressure and preserve the function of the right ventricle.2
