Suboptimal hydration status increases the risk of incident MASLD: A pediatric cohort study

We have thoroughly reviewed the article written by Rinella et  al.,1 which presented the new definition of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD). Following screening for hepatic steatosis, the assessment of MASLD involved several key parameters, which are closely related to metabolic function including BMI, waist circumference, bloo d pressure, and blood biochemistry test indexes.1 These parameters are widely used in epidemiological studies pertaining to child and adolescent health.
