The relation between economic stressors and higher education students' mental health during the initial outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic

CONCLUSIONS: We observed socioeconomic inequalities in students' mental health, which, in part, can be ascribed to a larger exposure to the economic stressors related to COVID-19 among students' with a low SES. The macroeconomic context also played a role, as the impact of a reduction in working hours on depressive symptoms was stronger in countries with poor economic conditions.PMID:38179954 | DOI:10.1177/14034948231185938
