Mesalazine-Induced Obstructive Intrahepatic and Extrahepatic Bile Duct Inflammation Mimicking Cholangiocarcinoma
A 22-year-old man with ulcerative colitis was started on mesalazine slow-release tablets 2 grams twice daily and was hospitalized 3 months later for a 9-day history of jaundice, epigastric pain, nausea, vomiting, low-grade fever, and coughing. He had discontinued mesalazine 4 days before and received no other medications.
