Neurological symptoms due to SARS-CoV-2 infection require thorough work-up and assignment to a diagnosis
We read with interest the article by Bildik et al. about a retrospective, single center study in 342 SARS-CoV-2 positive pediatric patients with neurological manifestations [1]. In 322 patients, non-specific symptoms (ageusia, anosmia, parosmia, headache, dizziness, myalgia), and specific symptoms (seizure, cranial nerve palsy, Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS), acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM), cerebral vasculitis) were noted in the rest [1]. It was concluded that neurological manifestations differ between by age groups and that physicians should remain vigilant to detect neurological manifestations of SARS-CoV-2 [1].
