Stent-frame decoupling following self-expandable transcatheter aortic valve replacement
In 2009, Shultz et al.1 analysed multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) scans of 30 patients following first-generation CoreValve (CRS, Medtronic, Luxembourg) implantation and demonstrated that incomplete and non-uniform expansion of the transcatheter aortic valve (THV) stent frame could be observed at all prosthe sis levels. However, they also found a high level of eccentricity in the left ventricle outflow tract (LVOT) and native annulus, and less deformity in the middle and higher THV segments.
