E-248 Rescue intracranial stenting for failed posterior circulation thrombectomy: analysis from saint study

ConclusionIn patients with posterior circulation occlusion stokes who failed mechanical thrombectomy, our study suggests that RS has better outcomes with comparable safety profile. Randomized controlled studies are warranted for more concrete evidence.Abstract E-248 Table 1Baseline demographic, clinical and procedural characteristics among rescue stenting and failed reperfusion groups Rescue stentingN=84 Failed ReperfusionN=68 P value Age 63.6±12.6 69.7±13.5 0.005 Female 18 (21.4%) 35 (51.5%) <0.001 Ethnic BackgroundWhiteAAHispanicAsianOthers 33 (39.3%)20 (23.8%)22 (26.2%)4 (4.8%)5 (6%) 34 (50%)22 (32.4%)5 (7.4%)2 (2.9%)5 (7.4%) 0.03 HTN 65 (77.4%) 58 (85.3%) 0.22 HLD 37 (44%) 24 (35.3%) 0.27 DM 36 (42.9%) 26 (38.2%) 0.56 Atrial fibrillation 5 (6%) 23 (33.8%) <0.001 Current smoker 27 (32.1%) 9 (13.2%) 0.006 Initial blood glucose N=80142[120.5-197.75] N=66144.5 [119.75-178.5] 0.32 Stroke etiologyCardioembolicExtracranial atherosclerosisICAOthers 11 (13.1%)12 (14.3%)48 (57.1%)13 (15.5%) 25 (36.8%)8 (11.8%)13 (19.1%)22 (32.4%) <0.001 Previous stroke 17 (20.2%) 12 (17.6%) 0.69 Preprocedural IV-thrombolysis 17 (20.2%) 18 (26.5%) 0.36 Baseline NIHSS score N=8014 [7.25-24.75] N=6618 [12.75-25] 0.13 Baseline pc-ASPECTS N=569 [7.25-10] N=389 [8-10] 0.60 Site of occlusionVertebrobasilarPCA 78 (92.9%)6 (7.1%) 46 (67.6%)22 (32.4%) <0.001 Tandem lesion 8 (9.5%) 5 (7.4%) 0.63 LKN to puncture time N=69602 [367.5-974] N=62466 [292.5-803.25] 0.09 Procedure...
