E-177 Treatment of ischemic stroke in patients diagnosed with covid-19: a matched analysis of the national inpatient sample

ConclusionsIn this matched NIS analysis of patients treated for ischemic stroke with a concomitant COVID diagnosis, we demonstrate that EVT trends towards, although nonsignificant, higher rates of favorable functional outcomes when compared to medically managed patients.Abstract E-177 Table 1Patients with COVID and Acute Ischemic Stroke Comparing medical management vs EVT 1:1 Nearest Neighbor Matching for EVT based on Age, NIHSS, Gender, and Comorbidities Medically Managed N = 495 1 Endovascular ThrombectomyN = 495 1 p-value 2 Age in years at admission 66.82 ± 16.98 (19.00-90.00), (1.77) 65.67 ± 14.81 (28.00-90.00), (1.52) 0.606 NIHSS 17.32 ± 9.42 (0.00-35.00), (0.92) 17.62 ± 8.18 (0.00-36.00), (0.83) 0.809 Female 270.00/495.00 (54.55%) 265.00/495.00 (53.54%) 0.896 Diabetes 240.00/495.00 (48.48%) 230.00/495.00 (46.46%) 0.781 Dyslipidemia 300.00/495.00 (60.61%) 280.00/495.00 (56.57%) 0.576 Hypertension 280.00/495.00 (56.57%) 260.00/495.00 (52.53%) 0.562 Kidney Disease 195.00/495.00 (39.39%) 185.00/495.00 (37.37%) 0.783 CHF 110.00/495.00 (22.22%) 110.00/495.00 (22.22%) >0.999 CAD 80.00/495.00 (16.16%) 85.00/495.00 (17.17%) 0.854 AFib 195.00/495.00 (39.39%) 185.00/495.00 (37.37%) 0.783 ICH 40.00/495.00 (8.08%) 100.00/495.00 (20.20%) 0.025 Dec.
